Tattooing is the process of inserting indelible ink into the dermis layer of the skin to create a permanent mark, pattern, or design. This ancient art form has evolved significantly over the centuries, adapting to cultural shifts and technological advancements. Modern tattooing encompasses a wide range of styles and techniques, from traditional tribal patterns to hyper-realistic portraits and abstract designs.
Tattoo design is the creative process of developing visual concepts to be permanently inked onto the skin. This artistic endeavor involves a blend of aesthetic vision, technical skill, and personal expression. Tattoo designs can vary widely, ranging from simple, minimalist symbols to complex, detailed compositions. Here’s a closer look at the elements that make up the world of tattoo design.
I was born and raised in Durres, Albania. There's where I discovered my passion for drawing and painting, since I was a little kid. I remember myself closing off in my room and doodling for hours. My parents noticed that and suggested me to take a painting class in my free time. I was more than happy to accept. That was the beginning of everything! Participated in the art school "Artistic Lyceum Jan Kukuzeli". During my high school years, one day, a classmate randomly asked: "I want to make a tattoo. Does anyone know how to make that?" I stood up and said: "I know how to tattoo." In fact I didn't. But I wanted to make one so badly, so I asked around for tips and after taking the necessary information how to make one primitively, I was ready to go on. And that lead to many other tattoos, after I learned how to create a modest machine with my father's help who was a turner. He also gifted me a small shop where I could paint and make tattoos. That was seventeen years ago, and I was 16 years old. Now that I think of it, a lot of courage and passion was needed to take such a big step, and I had both. One tattoo after the other, one painting after the other during the years. And each of them continued to be more professional and more beautiful. I then decided to study at the "University of Fine Arts" for painting, and also had a master of "Sculpture and Ceramic". But at that time I never quit tattooing because that's where my heart really was fulfilled the most, and continued being a tattoo artist until this day. Big color realistic tattoos are the ones I love to create the most, because I love colors and I love to create that shocking effect of being hard to estimate whether that piece of art is actually ink in the skin, or a real object. Each day that passes by, I continue to study rigorously to make myself and my art better. I truly believe that without art the world would be an empty place!

While vacationing in Albania, I wanted to get a tattoo as a keepsake! I went to 4 salons, the prices are always high. Only Xhani asked for an adequate, reasonable price. The guy speaks excellent English and quickly understands what you want. Only he has an appointment for a week in advance. A good master is always busy!

Best experience I’ve had at a tattoo parlor. Very welcoming and you can tell that they really care about giving you exactly what you want. Xhani has such a light hand and could pull off incredibly clean lines in the detailed tattoo I wanted. I was surprised they don’t charge more for how good the work is.
